Anton Garcia-Abril Ruiz

Anton Garcia-Abril Ruiz (ensamble.info) was born in Madrid, Spain in 1969.

"While Spanish architects are known for seamlessly melding design aesthetics and construction know-how, Madrid-based Anton Garcia-Abril carries this love for what he calls "the fragrance of the constructive" to a new level, building much of his work through an in-house contracting firm. This gives him the freedom to experiment with new building systems that traditional contractors would shun, he explains, including materials on the outer fringes of solidity and fragility - from boulder facades to partitions built of plastic CD cases."
- David Cohn in Architectural Record, December 2004

ETSA Madrid 1995
Spanish Academy Research Grant in Rome.
Professor at ETSA Madrid, Architecture Projects.
Writes about architecture in EL CULTURAL
Gives lessons and conferences at different universities.
